Produced in England and dating from the early/mid 1950s, this Executive Duro 60 model is a largish pen (13.0cms capped) in the sought after black and silver marble design known today as 'Cracked Ice'.
This model comes with rolled gold trim including a single wide cap band
This model and design is shown as pen 6 on p183 of Andy Lambrou's Fountain Pens of the World
This is fitted with a 14k gold Conway Stewart Duro medium nib which produces a writing line of around 0.6mm. As shown in the photos of the nib, the tines are relatively short with the vent hole particularly close to the tips of the nib. This gives the nib a certain rigidity in addition to it having the additional thickness of gold that the 'Duro' term signifies
This shows no signs of having been used and is in excellent overall condition. It comes with an original 1950s Conway Stewart card box with guarantee document
This fills from an ink bottle using the lever on the side of the barrel and does not take cartridges. We have serviced the pen which includes fitting a new ink sac

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen and ultrasonically cleaning all the parts. We then reassemble the pen and fit the correct size of new ink sac, check the ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
