This is a superb example of the first edition in the Classic Pens CP collection, CP1, based on the sterling silver Sheaffer Targa which was launched in 1990
Classic Pens worked with Sheaffer and the Murelli SARL engraving company of France to create a Vannerie (basketweave) design on the sterling silver Targa model with gold plated trim
This was offered as a limited edition run of 250 pieces - this is #183 - and features the CP1 logo and the limited edition number engraved on the cap tassie as shown in the photos above. The cap lip carries the UK Assay Office hallmarks for sterling silver and the date letter 'R' for 1990
This is fitted with a 14k gold medium nib which produces a written line of around 0.6mm
The pen compes with its original red leatherette case and a numbered limited edition certificate
This takes standard modern Sheaffer cartridges or a Sheaffer converter for filling from an ink bottle
Condition wise, this shows no signs of having been used and is in superb condition all round.
