This is a German Pelikan M600 Souveran piston filler in black with gold trim. This is fitted with its original 18ct gold broad nib which produces a writing line of around 0.8mm
The M600 is the same size as the M400 but has a double cap band and a gold ring on the turning knob. The M600's ink view window is grey (m400's was green) and the pen has an 18ct nib (M400's was 14ct). So same size but several distinctive differences
This dates from before German Reunification in 1990 as the cap lip has the imprint 'W-Germany' for West Germany. As this is an M600, it dates from the late 1980s
Condition wise, this seems to have been very lightly used and is in excellent shape
This pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges. Like most Pelikan pens, this pen uses a piston mechanism to fill - turning the end of the barrel advances and retracts the piston

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and checking the piston mechanism. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
