This is a German Pelikan M250 piston filler in grey marble with gold trim. While the M200 came with a gold plated steel nib, the M250 was fitted with a monochrome 14k gold nib. These nibs retail for £100 plus today.
This pen has a broad 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.8mm.
This pen dates from before German Reunification in 1990 as the cap lip has the imprint 'W-Germany' for West Germany. Both the M200 and M250 were introduced in around 1985 were fitted with two cap bands rather than the single band we see today. This pen therefore dates from around 1985-1990
In terms of physical sizes, the M200 and M250 have the same dimensions as the M400
Condition wise, this seems to have been very lightly used and is in excellent shape
This pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges. There is a transparent grey ink view window at the base of the barrel. Like most Pelikan pens, this pen uses a piston mechanism to fill - turning the end of the barrel advances and retracts the piston
