Parker Vacumatic in azure pearl, 1946, Canada - Fine semi-flex nib

Regular price £165.00

The photos above are of the actual pen we are offering for sale here

Canadian Parker Vacumatic Blue Diamond in azure pearl, measuring 134 mm capped which means it is probably a 'Long Major'.  This is fitted with its original 14k gold two tone Canadian nib with the platinum mask

Writing with no pressure on the nib, it produces a line width of around 0.4mm which is a fine.  With very slight pressure, this line increases to around 0.6mm which is a medium width.  So it's possible reasonable to describe this nib as semi-flex or at least having some degree of flexibility but applying these terms is subjective

Both the nib and the barrel imprint carry the date imprint of 6 for 1946 with the barrel having two dashes and the nib three dashes for different quarters of 1946. Canada by this time was usually using dashes rather than the earlier dots for marking quarters

In terms of condition, this has been carefully looked after and is in excellent overall condition.  Barrel imprints are crisp and easy to read as can be seen from the photos. There is reasonably good barrel transparency. As can be seen in the close up photo of the cap lip, there is a shallow indentation or bump on one side of the cap band which isn't visible on the inside of the cap
