This is an early English 51 Custom ballpoint in light burgundy with a rolled gold cap
This example retains its original factory chalk markings on the barrel which read '"51" Ballpoint M'. The 'M' indicates that the pen was supplied with a medium refill
Condition wise, this is a superb example and shows no signs of having been used with very crisp imprints on the barrel. As is usual with the rolled gold caps, this shows the very superficial surface marks from storage
This is the earlier ballpoint with metal barrel threads and the brass ratchet mechanism which means that it's likely to date from the mid-late 1950s
This takes standard modern Parker refills
