The photos above are of the actual pen we are offering for sale here
This is an English Parker 51 Classic with steel cap in teal blue and is fitted with a medium 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.6mm
Condition wise, this is a superb example and shows no signs of having been used
The cap retains its original factory frosting while the barrel still has some of the original chalk marks - '51 M 64/8' - indicating the model (51); nib grade (Medium)and price (64 shillings and 8 pence)
In terms of dating, features such as the simple cap imprint; the earlier cage clutch; the clear barrel imprint without date code, all suggest this was manufactured in the mid to late 1950s. In the course of servicing this, we stripped the nib unit down and found that the nib was imprinted for 1955, so we have an exact year of production for this pen
This is an aerometric Parker 51. The pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges
Condition A2/1m - (Ref 13352)
