Dating from the early 1950s, this is a Conway Stewart 58, a largish pen (13.0cms capped), in silver grey candystripe with gold trim. This pattern is also known as lined silver or grey and black marble
This is fitted with a 14k gold Conway Stewart #58 broad stub nib which produces a writing line of which varies from 0.5mm (fine/medium) when drawn left>right across the page and up to 1.0mm (extra broad) on vertical strokes
A stub nib is a usually a broadish nib which has had the front edge ground flat - a little like a rounded italic or the tip of a very blunt wood chisel. It gives a thicker line on a vertical downstroke (around 1.0mm) and a thinner line on a horizontal stroke (around 0.5mm). The line width differentiation is less marked than with a normal italic
This is in superb overall condition and shows little sign of having been used
This fills from an ink bottle using the lever on the side of the barrel and does not take cartridges. We have serviced the pen which includes fitting a new ink sac

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen and ultrasonically cleaning all the parts. We then reassemble the pen and fit the correct size of new ink sac, check the ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
This pen comes with our normal 12 month warranty. We keep a detailed record of each customer's purchases so if you need to call us, we will have all the information here to answer any query
