Costs

This is a guide to our charges.  We can't be more precise until we have examined your pen.  Once we have checked it over and confirmed what work and parts (if any) are needed, we will send you a firm written quote

How much will it cost?

Service/repair prices start from £25 per item plus return p&p

A service on a pen with a rubber sac (eg button filler, lever filler, push-knob filler, Swan Leverless type of pen) is £35-£48 plus any parts which we will specify in our quotation. Most Parker pen repairs are in the £42-55 range plus parts if any

A service on other filling systems (eg an Onoto piston filler, pneumatic filler, Sheaffer Snorkel/Touchdown, Parker Vacumatic etc) is £45-75 plus parts if any

Additional charges may be made for specific nib straightening and smoothing jobs

We always return pens using insured mail (RM Special Delivery or Tracked 24) - the charge for this postage and packing within the UK is £8-9 depending on weight.   For Europe, we use Royal Mail Tracked & Signed which is £10

If we think that your pen is not worth repairing, then we will advise you of this

How long will it take?

Our turnaround time for repairs is usually around 3-4 weeks, and guidance on this is updated monthly on our home page.  Our written quote always advises four weeks from receipt of payment which gives us time to source any parts which we might not have in stock.

Turnaround times vary in the run up to Christmas, and we will post an update on the home page if our timings needs to change

Our address and recommendations for posting and packaging is on our Repairs Q&A page here

Please make sure you use adequate packaging and postage
We are receiving an increasing number of pens sent in re-used padded envelopes and ex Amazon packaging which are not properly sealed and open up in the Royal Mail system.  Any package containing a pen is at least Royal Mail 'Large Letter' size if not a 'Small Parcel' so a standard Letter stamp is insufficient and will result in non-delivery or additional charges
