English Parker 51 Classic Mk1 in black with the uncommon rolled silver cap. This is fitted with a smooth medium 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.6mm
In terms of condition, the pen has been well looked after and is in sound overall condition. The cap fits well and is quite clean with a couple of small dings and the normal scuffing to the rolled silver finish which, while popular and uncommon, is less resilient to everyday use than the rolled gold or steel finishes. Unlike the other finishes, the rolled silver version was unique to the English factory and not produced in the USA or elsewhere
This dates from the late 1950s as the cap has the shorter clip, the earlier cage clutch and the simple Parker imprint on the front

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and fitting a new pliglass ink sac. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
This is a Parker 51 with the aerometric filling system. The pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges
