This is an English Parker 51 Mk1 Custom in black with a rolled gold cap. It's fitted with a extra fine 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.3mm
Unusually the cap has a presentation inscription on the reserse which says that the pen has been "Presented by H. J. Heinz Co. Ltd." We've added two photos of this above. Such a cap must have been a special order from Parker as the reverse of the cap has a special smooth cartouche for the engraving. On the normal Custom caps, the engine turned groups of five lines continue all the way around the cap. On this cap, these lines restart towards the base where the '1/10 12ct R Gold' imprint is located
Otherwise the cap is pristine with no dents, dings or any signs of plating wear
Condition wise, the rest of the pen also looks hardly used and is in excellent overall shape. The barrel imprint ('Parker Made in England') is readable and shows up in the photos
In terms of dating, the cap has the simple 'Parker' imprint to the front and the standard '1/10 12ct R.Gold' imprint to the rear. The cap has the the earlier cage clutch but the later shorter clip so mid/late 1950s

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and fitting a new pliglass ink sac. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
This is a Parker 51 with the aerometric filling system. The pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges
