This is a boxed set of English Parker 51 Mk1 Classic fountain pen and ballpoint in grey with steel caps. The pen's fitted with a medium 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.6mm
The ballpoint is operated by moving the cap up and down. This ballpoint has the later ratchet mechanism in the cap which works with the plastic threaded barrel. It takes the standard modern Parker ballpoint or gel refills
Condition wise, both the pen and ballpoint show little if any signs of having been used. Both caps retain almost all of the original factory frosted finish The lucite (type of plastic) front shell and barrels are in superb condition
Design features such as both caps having the simple 'Parker' imprint to the front and the 'Made in England' with the Halo logo on the reverse together with the later four prong cap clutch date these to around 1962/63
The set comes with the hardshell Parker box and instruction leaflet shown in the photos. This design of this box is one used by Parker in the 1950s and 60s

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and fitting a new pliglass ink sac. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib. We also check and adjust the tightness and positioning of the clip.
This is a Parker 51 with the aerometric filling system. The pen fills from an ink bottle and does not take cartridges
