The pen's fitted with a medium 14k gold nib which produces a writing line of around 0.6mm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ballpoint is operated by moving the cap up and down.  This ballpoint has the later ratchet mechanism in the cap which works with the plastic threaded barrel.  It takes the standard modern Parker ballpoint or gel refills \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition wise, both the pen and ballpoint show no signs of having been used. Both caps have their original factory frosted finish  The lucite (type of plastic) front shell and barrels are in superb condition, and both barrels retain their original chalk markings indicating model and nib grade\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDesign features such as both caps having the simple 'Parker' imprint to the front and the 'Made in England' with the Halo logo on the reverse together with the '51' imprint on both sides date this set to around 1965\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe set comes with the hardshell Parker box and instruction leaflet shown in the photos.  This design of this box is one used by Parker in the 1950s and 60s.  The card outer case is showing some wear, but retains the end flaps which are marked 'Duette' indicating that the box contains two pens\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition A2\/1m - (Ref 13403)\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"product-single__description rte\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"product-single__description rte\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSee our \u003ca class=\"text-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.penhome.co.uk\/pages\/our-pen-condition-scale\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eCondition Grading Scale\u003c\/a\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen, ultrasonically cleaning all the parts and fitting a new pliglass ink sac. We then reassemble the pen, check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib.
