This is a boxed set of the classic TM touchdown filling Statesman snorkel fountain pen and matching pencil in burgundy with gold trim with both pieces manufactured in Australia. Both date from around 1952 when Sheaffer first launched pens with the snorkel filling mechanism
The fountain pen is fitted with a fine palladium-silver nib. The pencil has the propel/repel type mechanism which operates by turning the cap and takes 0.9mm leads
We have fully serviced the filling system which is working well with new seals and a silicone sac.
The set comes with its original Sheaffer 'New Snorkel' pen box
Overall the condition of both pen and pencil are excellent. The pen clip has two small nicks in it which are shown in the photos above

We have fully serviced this pen which includes disassembling the pen and ultrasonically cleaning all the parts. We then reassemble the pen; fit a new ink sac and replace seals in the nib unit and barrel which are needed to ensure the pen creates a vacuum for filling. We then check ink flow and the smoothness of the nib.
